ABIDJAN (Reuters) – Pan-African bank Ecobank has suspended its operations in Côte d’Ivoire, a company official said on Friday.
Ecobank was the last of the major international banks still operating in the country after banks suspended operations this week amid complaints about problems over security and liquidity.
« No bank can work alone in a country under such conditions. That is why we have decided to close, like all the other banks, » an Ecobank official told Reuters, asking not to be named.
